| 21 Jul 2003 | Anna 'Elisandra' Warren | Loading...Ya know, this one struck me in particular as a thumbnail...probably because of the contrast, and I really like it. I love how you use simple lines to get your effect across, however, I have one little suggestion that could enhance a future pic like this. One thing I'm learning in my photography classes is different types of lighting, and this would be known as edge lighting, where the light source is behind the subject and causes a slightly glowing effect on the edges of the subject. In b&w photography, it's actually a white outline.
In this piece, it looks as if the moon would be very bright, and would cause such an effect, and I keep wanting to see that white edge around the hood and shoulders of her cloak, and possibly the upper handle and head of the scythe. I'm not sure how you would achieve that effect with pencil, but it never hurts to figure things like that out.
I also love the story you tell with this piece, no description is needed, the picture says it all... | |
