SciFi and Fantasy Art Verisimilitude of a Pteropod by JV Different

Okay, don't be scared of that massive word in the title... actually maybe you should lol. Anyway, as you can tell by the trippy green this work is part of my 'I Dream Therefore I am' works (Slipping through the Matrix, Versimilitude of a Winged Lightbulb and So Many Factors...So Many Choices are the other bits of it). And yes, that is indeed a lightbulb with wings. Well, hey- it could only happen in fantasy, yeh? Basically the idea for a winged lightbulb came from a random Google search for weird and whacky deep sea creatures. I found a creature called a pteropod- and my first reaction was 'Whoa hey- that looks like a lightbulb with wings!' So I decided to use the lightbulb and the pteropod as binary elements for my works. The lightbulb is surreal, yet composed of reality (costume fairy wings and a paper machee lightbulb), whilst the pteropod is actually a real thing that just doesn't look like it should be. Oh and by the way- the 'shadows' on the work are actually painted (yet more illusions!).
