Alright, time for a little facelift. Or, more appropriately, a liposuction- seeing this biography was so damned fat before.
In brief, I am a partially Czech-but-Australian third year Media in Screen Production student at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. In most internet accounts I run with the alias 'justverydifferent' or 'JV Different', so you may know me from that. Or not lol. I'm an eccentric, rebellious, subversive creature, fascinated by the vices and murky depths of modern intelligence and the myriad of ways one can go about creating a decent monster. I'm also a giant big cynic of just about everything there is to be cynical of- science, I think, is the one exception. I'm also the kind of person who would want to dress up as Optimus Prime for the Transformers movie, but isn't able to afford the required cardboard boxes.
LIKES: I'm an avid listener with a broad taste, but my favourite musical genre would have to be industrial. Nine Inch Nails, Wumpscut, Rammstein, the Prodigy, the Crystal Method... these are the kind of sounds I relish the most. Favourite films? Well these would have to be V for Vendetta, Old Boy, Fight Club, the Matrix, Kill Bill (1&2), Alien, Sin City, Being John Malkovich, Brazil and Children of Men. There's bound to be more, but I can't rightly remember them at the moment. Books? At the moment I read more graphic novels than I do books, but I believe they still count. So the favourite books would be Imajica (Clive Barker), Watchmen (Alan Moore), V for Vendetta (Alan Moore), the Sin City series (Frank Miller), the Dragoncharm series (Graham Edwards), the Sandman series (Neil Gaiman) and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac (Jhonen Vasquez). I love Japan, the Czech Republic, and Australia (when the politics doesn't do its best to annoy me).
Most of the art here is quite a few years old. The exception to this is the Contemporary Dragon, which I'm still in the process of drawing. So that picture is more testament to my skills than anything else here, let's say. Anyway, I hope you enjoy meandering through this niche in the woods.
And for nostalgia's sake, here are the notable quotables :)
'Celibacy is a hands-on job.' (Ghost- Anthony Wong)
'I have the body of an eighteen-year-old. I keep it in the fridge.' (Spike Milligan)
'A classic is something everyone wants to have read, but nobody wants to actually read...' (Mark Twain I think, or Groucho Marx)
'A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick-boxing.' (Erno Philips)
'DOOM!' (Invader Zim)
'Would you mind my extinction?' (Panda)
'But why the RUM?!' (Jack Sparrow- Johnny Depp)
'You like the samurai sword...*I* like baseball.' (Hattori Hanzo- Sonny Chiba)
'Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today' (James Dean- who the hell is this guy?!)
'There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.' (Mr Garrison)
'Blessed be the cracked, for they let in the light.' (My dad)
'Mmmm...forbidden doughnut...' *gurgle* (Homer Simpson)
'It is time for the human race to *enter* the solar system.' (George W Bush)
'Most people are only alive because it's illegal to shoot them.' (I seriously dunno)
'Alcohol doesn't solve any problems, but then again neither does milk.' (I dunno again)

I too like to travel to Japan sometime. You have great works here. Like the details in your drawings, unique style as well. Excellent gallery, keep it up (^-^)! JV Different replies: "Oh yeh! Tech is great- anything with a heavy bass beat or a computery riff is enough to entrance me mmmm... *drools* I actually plan on travelling through the entirety of Asia- though I personally love Australia, it calls my name too irresistably. I've been to Japan, and am going again with my grandma at the end of the year to celebrate my escape from highschool- yay! It's a great place. Anyway, thanks for coming by and commenting- I'll keep my work comin' as long as you do too! ^_^"

(OMG, did I really use that word? O_o) Then again, I too miss more griffins/gryphons/griffens here. (Here's a chalenge: draw (and color) a griffin with bat's wings and tiger's stripes.) More comments on the Meathook pic. Yup. I'm off. *Hits herself to head. "Will you stop babbling!"* JV Different replies: "Yay! You like the chameleon! Don't worry I'll forget the 'neat'...*grins* heheh. Hmm...*mulls over the suggested challenge* Griffin, batty wings, tiger stripes...and colour. Eeep. Colour. I can do the drawing part...eheh. Alright, alright I'll accept. Woot. Thanks for the comment- and I shall work towards your challenge! Onward march!"
| 4 Jan 2005 | Jennifer Russo | Loading...I love your art. It is so full of contrast and sharp, defined edges. You've got a really good grip on line and contour. I seriously burst out laughing when I read in your bio where you ask "who the hell is this guy?" in reference to James Dean. Not laughing at you, laughing at myself for being so damned American. You'd be hard-pressed to find anybody from the States who didn't know who the guy was. x_O JV Different replies: "Ooo wow! Thanks so much! Now that I've finished school I'll have so much more time to develop and all that funky jazz- yay ^_^ Ah...so James Dean is an American guy...that'd explain why I haven't heard of him. Who is he by the way? Anyway- thanks muchly for the comment!" | |
| 6 Jan 2005 | Jennifer Russo | Loading...James Dean is a typical all-American bad boy actor. You know, the beatnik with the cigarette and the leather coat. He's dead now, or if he's still alive, no longer acting, but the U.S. is really familiar with him because he epitomizes the sort of idealized image we like to think we have. JV Different replies: "Ah...gotcha. An actor and bad boy. Just goes to show how oblivious I be, even for someone as down under as I. Heheheh." | |
| 12 May 2005 | Jennifer Russo | Loading...*pokes you* did you survive the crash? Looks like some Elfwooders I used to know headed for the hills... JV Different replies: "Indeedy I did. I've been around here for almost a year now. I only lost a batch of new updates, but most of them were milestones of my stylistic progress that i was going to chuck out with my next update anyway. So yuss, I remain here barely affected by the entire thing. *grins*" | |
