An armadillo type dragon sitting in the light of the Lunar eclipse. The top of the rocky coast is a wonderful viewing spot.

I had fun with this one. This is my first painting with a lot of floating medium, usually I just thin the paints with a little water.

**Edit: Late February 2008: Replaced it with a better scan. ^_^

I love your use of detail in this, but especially how did you get it to glow? Excellent work!

1 Sarah "SnowHummingbird" Cluck replies: "Thanks so much! ^__^ I loved doing this one. I made the back glow by basically adding no shadow to the back, and using Acrylic Floating Medium and water to thin out some white/yellow paint for a more transparent look and brushed it around as the last part of the painting. I did around the same with moon. ^.^"

Wow. That looks so cool. I love the night sky, how did you do it?

:-) Sarah "SnowHummingbird" Cluck replies: "Thanks! XD

The sky is a True Blue and Burnt Umber mix , then the clouds and the light around the moon was the same mix with barely more blue. I followed up with watered down blue/white mixed with Floating medium for the light on the clouds. ^__^"

I especially love how the armadilly thingy’s back is like a reflection of the crescent moon, what with the way he’s curving. And he has such a saucy little face. 1

Wow... This is stunning. Definetely one of your best pieces.
I love how his yellow scales(?) on his back just glows, his red eyes and myserious expression.
The background is wonderfully done, I love the moon!
Beautiful artwork!

:-) Sarah "SnowHummingbird" Cluck replies: "Thanks alot!! XD Yeah, those are scales... or plates. I’m actually not sure which. o.O They just... are. ^__^"

Wow, the colours are incredible! It really looks like it’s glowing, especially because of the dark background. And such a creative idea, too . . . I’m in awe!
