Face to face we are inside,

Somewhere neither of us can hide.

Nose to nose we stand and stare,

About this fight only we care.

Me and I.

Fiery eyes, tunnels to the fiery dragon,

Received by the nightmare coldness of a lonely heart,

That’s what keeps them apart.

Me and I.

The spirited Phoenix sores above the heavens.

The warrior stands and fights, sacrifices his life.

The coward flees and takes someone else’s life,

They are only separated by the edge on a knife.

Me and I.

The Joy they’ve shared,

The love they’ve lost,

Each would have it back whatever the cost.

They are opposites as one.

Me and I.

A shout across the busy street,

A heart piercing stare,

An abusive comment,

They are both unaware.

Both Me and I want to be free but you won’t rescue me!

Now I must go, on a life long journey,

A parallel path for both Me and I.

But who will succeed?

Both.

Heart and Soul.

Bravery and Fear.

Talker and Listener.

All are me.

I am free.
