"A kiss" by Jessica R. Horst

From the moment wind first touched the earth, the two had intermixed.  What was not packed down swirled upwards, caught in the caress of the wind.  From the jubilation of their meeting, life had sprung, and from such, came the Unustae.  Tall, lithe creatures, with pale complexions, that can run across the earth with the speed of the wind.  Proud people, their ways are as slow changing as the earth.  Thus when one of their kind disrupts the rules, he/she is exiled into the cruel existance of the world beyond.  Few of their kind live outside their clan.  She is one of them.  Daughter of their chief, she sought out the outside world and met a human.  Having never seen a human before, she fell in love with him like one might a beloved toy.  She brought him back to her clan, hoping that they would accept them together.  For her treachery, she was exiled to the world she was so curious about.  The man that she had thought was hers was taken, and ultimately tortured to death.  As is their ways, and so she lives alone. 

A character from a book I am working on.  I created her without even knowing her name.  As it is with most of my characters.  Sketch that was scanned then colored with Adobe.
