I love the slight graininess that comes with the pencil work but I’m amazed at the detail you’ve managed to add, like all the patterns on the girls dresses and such. What pencils do you use? Mine (derwent artist I think) always leave a lot of paper showing through, but yours seem to cover the surface better. Are they soft/oily? Congrats on the mod’s pick too - they could have given it to any one of your pictures!

Nice to meet a fellow Celt as well- my Grandmother was a Burnside, but sadly, I do not know from what part of Scotland. My great-Uncle Angus could speak the language fluently and had a strong Scots accent and great bushy red sideburns! My wife occasionally threatens to make me a kilt- but I fear it would not look quite right here in Arizona So how are things in Essex? We just had a cold spell, but it is supposed to warm up next week to our usual 28C, with clear blue skies and fluffy clouds, just perfect for cloud watching.
