| 6 Nov 2004 | Shavonne Wong | thanx for commenting my page..ur a great drawer too =D | |
| 8 Nov 2004 | Sabine B. Fischer | Do more watercolor-style acrylics, please? They're just so stylish and unique and pretty. Julia S. Ong replies: "Hi~ hehe I was pretty pleased with the way those acrylic/watercolors turned out... however it's hard to use acrylics that way - they dry up too quickly, and when I add that much water to the paint, the drawing surface tends to get a skin on it.. after which it starts peeling when I try to add more layers >o< Thanks for commenting! =)" | |
| 9 Nov 2004 | Sabine B. Fischer | I see the problem with water and acrylics now. Honestly, I haven't tried many of the traditional ways of painting myself. And usually I messed up things because I had no undo-button... Umm.. yes.. Julia S. Ong replies: "lol, the undo button in painting = over-color in white, heh" | |
| 11 Nov 2004 | Sabine B. Fischer | *giggles* if I overcolored everything I mess up in painting with white, I would have little hills in my painting, erm.. the thought is interesting actually, having a painting with paint hills on it from overpainting all the time. | |
| 21 Nov 2004 | Sabine B. Fischer | Since you seem to draw when you wait for stuff to compile, I could almost wish the stuff would take longer to compile so you draw more beautiful pictures like that one. Julia S. Ong replies: "Eee you are so productive! It takes me ages to come up with something to publish here, 'cos I tend to doodle half-assed pictures rather than stick around polishing... Results: billions of rough sketches, and no masterpieces =<</font>" | |
| 21 Nov 2004 | Elizabeth A. Genther | Hey Julia, Welcome to Elfwood. It looks like you have a nice start here. I really like your art and hope to see more soon. Keep up the good work. ~Liz~ Julia S. Ong replies: "Heh thanks for stopping by! Hopefully I'll improve on my 'start' sometime soon =] " | |
| 25 Nov 2004 | Sabine B. Fischer | *giggles* this is just weird, you drowning in sketches and me not having any sketches at all. But really, the reason why I finish about 75% of what I start is that I don't use real media pretty much anymore and so I can't mess up. A bit of undo and it's all fine again. | |
| 20 Jun 2005 | Beau K. Horton - Hunter | Love the pictures They're great. The anatomy of the horse / stag / equine - thingy - ma - bob - whatsamacallit is very nice, though the hooves are a bit bigger than I'm used to... but thats just me, being biased towards Arabian horse proportions The dish in the head is very arabian, and therefore, very stylish </bias> That knife is actually a quite viable and workable weapon. I've made something similar (I make knives and swords) and it tends to actually be better if the chain is attached directly to the blade, without a handle... but hey, practicallity isn't what we're here for, and it looks awesome, so cool And damn... that is one big sword... how the hell would you carry that thing!? Anyway, love your art, and its nice to see another aussie on here B | |
