	February 2004 - Pencil drawing - 50cm x 32cm The dusk of one species - The dawn of another. Never in Earth' history there has been more renewal and spreading of life than after the great extinction waves. This probably won't change in the future... My contribution to the Epilogue 'Renewal' art contest.

I love the feeling of after-doom (the grey-scale was a perfect choice!) and beginning a-new (the li'le fairies) so perfectly brought together. The skull seems a little odd, but the perspective is absolutely austounding. Great work. Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you Teresa! Maybe the skull looks so odd because I kept it close to a photo reference I took from a skull model from school and the rest of the picture isn't referenced as closely. I agree there is a slight difference in style or shading... I can't exactly name it."

Two little faeries laying in a human skull after a bombing or whatever you said...an extinction wave, I think it was....shrugs whatever, I love the picture! Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S.
