	August 2004 - 40cm x 30cm - Oil paint Finally, another picture with golden songgryphons, the most famous species of my cute little fellows. Here for the first time in oils. I made this especially for an exhibition. Cross fingers for me, maybe it even finds a buyer! :)

Again they are very sweet and nice, so I wand to cuddle them. And as I can see your little songgryphons really like fruit and berries - on many pictures there are on or playing with them. Do they eat them too or do they need flesh and other things? Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Hi Christel! They mainly eat small insects, they hunt. But I suppose they don't despise to pick on fruits and berries now and then, especially in winter, when they can't find their prey that easily. Those that don't fly south, that is. (Technically: I just like to draw them in such still lifes. It's the first time ever that I don't find still lifes dead boring. ;-))"

If I would have the money, I would definetley want t have it! Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Yes, indeed I want those dark still lifes to look like Renaissance pictures. Me want one too He could fly together with my canary birds, they surely would be nice friends lol And you're right: still life is even more interesting with such cute lil' songgryphons in them! I recently did some Ara - coloured ones, but I bet canarys would also fit well. imagines a picture with canarys and canary-songgryphons in a cage "
