But its as much pity for them as for butterflies, you are really good on propotions and realistic stuff Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "That's exactly my thought, the part about butterflies. "
| 13 Oct 2005 | Emily | Loading...When I was a little girl, I had a walking-stick climb into my hair and sit down very politely on my shoulder. I was delighted by its bravery, but a friend of the family who was with me at the time (and who happened to be an insect collector) plucked it off of my shoulder and stuffed it in a plastic bag. The next time I saw it, it was pinned to a corkboard. I've never liked bug collections since then. Your dark (but really spiffy) drawing made me remember that. Great job! Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "What a sad experience! Thank you for your comment!" | |

This does seem to have a slightly more cartoony look to it than much of your other art work. Great Picture. Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "I guess it will take some time until Ellen Million finally puts that book together. This picture was meant to look more cartoonish and cute than the others. (At least this time it was intentional ;-).)"
| 16 Apr 2006 | Dying Messenger | Loading...This is the perfect picture of life. It really is. It wonderfully shows that we are part of something so much bigger than we think and or know of. At any moment, we could be plucked from earth and set in a display, much like this faery one. I truly feel sad for creatures who are taken from their home to be set on display, whether they're alive or not, it's still wrong. Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Thank you again, Dying Messenger! I absolutely agree with you." | |
| 6 Dec 2006 | Fred Gillyweed Jones | Loading...Your picture is so sad and beautiful!!! It really makes me think... one thing though, isn't it spelt fae? but i'm nitpicking - brilliant picture Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "I guess there are various ways to spell that. There are probably even more ideas around about what exactly such a creature is... Thanks for your comments and Merry Christmans!" | |

| 27 Dec 2007 | CoolieO | Loading...It's pretty barbaric, capturing little inocient fairies and killing them for a hobby. They still kind of look alive, are they indestructible? Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) replies: "Oh my God, I think so, yes! I guess fairies would't be killed so easily. At least that means that those poor ones could be rescued ..." | |
