Another experiment with firey effects. Yes, if you haven't yet figured it out, I do like fire. Anyway, This pic was titled Autumn Fire 'cause in the pencil sketch the little fire sprite was sitting in a pile of fallen leaves, but since colouring it, it either looks like it's sitting in a lava pool, or on a pizza. Take your pick. Hmm... I suppose warm pizza wouldn't be that bad to sit on really... Maybe better as a foot warmer...
Anyway, coloured pencil and a few minor adjustments in Photoshop. (YES!!! I NOW OWN PHOTOSHOP TOO!! YAY!!!)

I like this one very much becuase it looks like...well...I can't describe it. The whole pic has a lot of feeling though, but I do think that a backround would add a lot.
yours in eraser bits,
Catalina

:-) Sophia Hutchings replies: "Thank you! *sigh* Yes... a background... *shivers* ugh, I really hate backgrounds... Forcing self to learn though... *more sighing* Anyway, thanks for your comment!"

You do seem to have a thing with fire, it's served you well in this picture - my only complaint would be that you don't have more. I say that because you really do fire effects well, If I were to make a suggestion it would be to do a large scale picture - that involves then in some way. Something complex to keep the eye busy, yet easy enough on the same - that it draws you in easily. Quite lovely this is - experiment or no. : )

1 Sophia Hutchings replies: "Thanks for the comment! I'm thrilled that my fire's coming out nicely, and I do like that suggestion of a large scale picture! I may give that a go as soon as I get some spare time. Thank you!"
