I'm Aileen Oracion, aspiring artist behind I-Illustrate. I love to draw - I have been drawing since I was little - I draw & design because I can't help it, it's who I am!

I like to think that my work has a lot in common w/ the stuff that make up fairytales because they're based on thought / imagination. I stay away from realism because I am an individualist & would tend to create art that are not copies of things that are commonly seen or experienced.

My art is a product of self-instruction. I am actually a Business Management graduate, which has not been put to waste because I run my own business, Big Ben Watches. I am considering a course in Illustration in a year or so.

I appreciate figures, especially if they are drawn in such a way that their poses are expressive, dynamic, yet graceful. I also appreciate illustrations that have simple lines, few elements but have a lot of character. My favorite artists, just to name a few, are Burne Hogarth, Romain de Tirtoff (Erte), Junko Mizuno, Mokona (CLAMP)... the list goes on.

I draw my inspiration from mythology, manga/comics, folklore & art communities like Manga Workshop, Elfwood & Deviant Art.

Yay I'm first to leave a comment, I can't believe it *wibbles* Your gallery is great, I love the colours and the compositions, your work is so professional you're putting some of us (ehem ehem, me) to shame, but that's alright I don't mind when the artist is as good as you with colour. Welcome!

your work is awesome... my favorite is Eros, that's almost exactly how i imaged him, except with a quiver full of arrows and bow inside... but great work overall...

Wow, what a wild gallery! Very cool! I don’t do any art myself, but I wander the groves, commenting and annoying people. I figure most Elfwoods denizens like fantasy, so currently the annoyance is in the form of promoting a cool comic called Black Jack O’Breen. ’Tis the tale of a rogue who returns to his homeland because fae have taken his brother. If you’re curious, Check out:

Hello Aileen, fairly comprehensive gallery you’ve got here. I like the variation in ideas and themes and I’m always a fan of someone who develops their own unique style which you definitely have. Nice 1

Love the art, as I thumbed through it ti seem that you’re doin’ you art mainly on Mythology...very cool. You have a picture of Dracula’s wives, have you ever read Abraham Stoker’s Dracula?
Friends?

:-) Aileen Oracion replies: "Hello Jess! Yes, I did read that novel and it was very descriptive! I also watched the movie. I am very happy to learn that you liked this picture. It is still a sketch, I hope to finish it in pen and ink soon!"

You’ve read Dracula, if I might ask, have you read any other classics like Frankenstien, or a book called "Werewolf or Paris"? I rather like the sketches, but that’s just me. sketches, in my oppinion show more of the character than a pen and ink does.

:-) Aileen Oracion replies: "Hi Jess! Yes, of course, I’ve read Frankenstein - it’s a classic, after all. But I’ve never read "Werewolf" nor "Paris". Who are their authors? Perhaps, I’ve read their other writings. I am a bookworm and would love to read books that are recommended.
Thank you for appreciating my sketches!"
