| 13 Dec 2007 | Miriam K Churchill | I have to say that I love every one of your drawings. They convey so much emotion!!!!! You draw the way that I can only ever dream of being able to do.
I also wanted to say that I got married when I was 18 too. I’m now 25, I’m still happily married, and we now have 2 beautiful little girls.
We have received many strange comments about getting married and deciding to have children so young but it really is not up to anyone else to cast those judgments upon another person. Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you. I’m so glad you enjoy my work and congrats on your marriage and your daughters! I hope to have a girl someday. Good luck!"
| 17 Feb 2008 | Natalia *nati* Pierandrei | Thank you SO much for commenting on my artwork, it’s very nice of you and...sorry! It took me so long to write back! *busy, busy* Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "As long as you’re busy creating more beautiful artwork, that’s fine by me. I guess i’m a bit of a fan. Have a good one! ^___^" | |
| 18 Feb 2008 | Megan G. Firestone | Your stuff is so beautiful! I love your style! Your so good! | |
| 1 Apr 2008 | Anon. | Hello again! I don’t know if you remember me or not...but I’ve left you a few messages. I see you have been working with color a bit more. I like it. I wanted to ask you if you have had a chance to try color pencils? I know I don’t have tons of work on here...but color pencils seem to work best for me...thought you might want to give it a try.
It looks to me as if you are getting the color thing down though...Just believe in yourself...I know you can color as well as you ink...I just know it.
Again I have to say...you are so amazing with eyes...they always seem alive and full of emotions...and in truth you have an amazing ability to capture movement and feelings with the simplest of lines...I just love ya.
Mardi
Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "Hello Mardi! Thank you so very much! I have been working a lot more with colors and Backgrounds...ugh, backgrounds are tough. I have tried pencils, and I was able to do a couple pieces with them, but for now, Marker seems to have clicked! I’m so glad you like the new pieces! I can’t wait to improve! Thanks again!

| 29 May 2008 | Ines Knaster | Wow I love your artwork..*claps her hands* I love the ink pictures and marker pics...I love how they all look so delicate, I love their faces and expressions and your way of drawing the lines and all..The way you make their hair is lovely. In those marker pictures you do the hair kind of simple and curly and it looks so great and in those ink pictures you draw it kind of realistically and "messy". It always looks so nice!^^ Really you’re so great, I really really mean it. Don’t ever stop drawing!<3 P.S You totally deserved those mod’s choices (you’d deserve it for many of your pictures if you ask me), people who complain about it just don’t understand anything. You should just ignore them... Oh and congrats for getting married even though it probably happened a while ago.^^’ and one more thing: DON’T DELETE YOUR PICTURES! Are you crazy! Okay bye now..*gives an apple and dances away* Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "This is probably the best (and most flattering) comment I have gotten all year! Thank you so much! I can’t even tell you how much better you just made my day! I am so glad you enjoy my drawings, and I have no intention of quitting. I can only hope to improve! Come back and see me again sometime!" | |
| 24 Jun 2008 | Bri A. Herber | I really enjoy your gallery. I only looked at about eight or so pieces, but I really like your style, so I had to comment. (also the add to favorites isn’t working on my computer, so this is how I add my faves haha). But your art is very beautiful. I like how your faes are--I don’t want to use the word ’frail’ because that sounds a little negative, but they are gorgeous. I can’t wait to look through the rest of your work. Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "Hi! Thank you so much! You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that people enjoy my art..it still surprises me most of the time. I’m including a link to my Deviantatr account for you because my recent pieces haven’t been fantasy, so I couldnt post them here go to http://semperfidelis0819.deviantart.com/ if you want to take a look! Once again, Thank you!" | |
| 13 Jul 2008 | Rocky Delliquanti | I really love looking through your pieces. They are greatly drawn and colored.
I can’t wait to see more of what you do Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "Thank you so much! I just updated actually. I hope you’ll take a look! I also hope I don’t dissapoint you in the future. Thanks for stopping by!"
| 14 Jul 2008 | Mardi Byrd | I’ve always wanted to say...OMG...You are so amazing! I love your work...please, please never stop drawing...you are so great at capturing feeling and life in just a few strokes of ink...I’m so impressed. I know I’ve said it a lot...but I want to make sure that you never, never forget it.
I think you should do some illustrations for children’s books. I could totally see myself, as a child, getting lost in your drawings, which is pretty much saying I’m a child – cause I already get lost in them. I just love ya!
Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "GOSH MARDI! You alwasy leave me the BEST comments! haha! It is my secret dream to be an illustrator for children’s books, So you REALLY couldn’t have given me better praise! I’m so glad that you like my pictures! I hope to improve and make you proud! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! ♥"
| 4 Nov 2008 | Mardi Byrd | Look at this...pages and pages of compliments! I’m not surprised on bit. Rachael, you’ve been very busy. I see your hard work learning to color is paying off greatly. I love how you use such soft colors that capture the gentleness of your drawings. Can’t wait to till you do your first illustrations for a children’s book! Rachel D. Spool Toguchi replies: "Mardi! My best supporter! *sigh* sad to say but I am having the WORST artists block! I haven’t been able to draw anything in MONTHS! It’s really very sad..I miss it...please wish me luck! I want to draw again!" | |
