Poem I wrote in 2003.

The mermaid swims around

Completely wild, completely free

Blissfully happy and proud

For her talents reach beyond all measure.

She spends her days chattering with the seagulls

SInging with the whales

And frolicking amongst her friends beneath the waves

For there is no end to her enchantments.

King Tritan

And Queen Aphrodite

Watch over her

For there are no limits to her beauty.

From above the waves

The pale moon and the brilliant sun

Shed light on her home

For she has the whole world to occupy her.

She will never grow old

And no matter her age in years

She will never die

For she is the spirit of the sea.

Beautiful - I think this is my favourite in your gallery. I like the sketchy lines and her frizzy hair and the expression on her face.

Oh Ray. This one is so well done. It's very different then anything you've done before and it's so good. It looks very good.

I love this picture. It's amazing. I could never do it.

The poem is awesome, too, but I must say I'm not overly fond of the very first line....

LOVE the hair! So wild... love love love!

13 Rachel Danielle Toguchi replies: "haha! well, I was thinking..we ALL know what salt water does to hair, so why would it be smooth and shiny? mermaids are feral, theyre not cute little pets. I'm glad you like her!"

I really like the way you made her tail, she actually looks like she was made for the sea. She looks like I would imagine a mermaid would look; she is beautiful. Her hair is great too. I love your gallery and I hope you will continue to add to it. Thanks for sharing your wonderful imagination and talent with the rest of us, especially those of us who wished we could.

Haha! Know what I just realized? This is like the little mermaid, only more sophisticated! Mermaid coming to a little rock with two posts. A seagull there who knows about the human world. And a fork, or a dinglehopper! Even the far off castle on the horizon!

Seawater really is a disaster waiting to happen for hair1! No really, this is a fantastic pic!
