I managed to finish another faerydragon for Ropecon! I carried him around on my shoulder, and was every minute afraid that he would fall off and break... which luckily did not happen. I named him 'Ötökkä' which means a bug in Finnish. I think the name suits him. X)

I was going to make him diffent colour than the other one, but then I couldn´t imagine which other colours I could use with peacock-feathers than green, gold and white. Damn.

Done of clay and wire, painted with watercolours and nailpolish. Mane and tip of the tail was done of peacockfeathers, and the wings were cutted from overhead projector sheet, then painted with clear and gold nailpolish and bronze gelpen.

I love the detailing that you did on his scales, he's such a wonderful dragon, and well in proportion. Great job! 1

How do u make the scales? And were do u get wire? I love these sculptures!

15 Rea (Spyrre) Karjalainen replies: "Thanks! Scales were made one by one, VERY SLOWLY. x__X Just took small pieces of clay sticked it to the sculpture, shaped it with a toothpick or a needle and then placed the next one.. The wire came from our basement or carage, sometimes usefull stuff can be found even there. ^^; The wire is pretty rusty, but it won´t break and it´s easy to bend, so I´m happy with it. =P "
