Another name for a pearl is sea tears, that is why I have given this picture that name. No story behind this picture, but it is going to be in two different versions. This one the first to be finished is in water colour, water colour pencils and guache. I am still colouring the other one in Photo Shop, and I take my time colouring in PS, it will be posted very soon though.

Great picture, I'm particually fond of mermaids myself. I like the fin along the top of her tail. her gills look good too. Nice work on the colouring.

:-) Steph Steph Salt replies: "Thank you Lauren I'm pleased that you like her. I'm improving don't you think 1"

I think those are fins on her face and forarms...and tail. They're great; I especially like how you made them look translucent. The gills in her chest are great, too...they look sizeable enought to handle the load. It's cool how you've made her exude an exotic fishy appearance with her coloring and all the aquatic stuff...just add some webs between those fingers and she'll look divine!! Cheers!

:-) Steph Steph Salt replies: "Top marks JC you are correct, Go to the top of the class 1 I am adding some webbing JC as well as doing scales on her tail. I keep geting comments asking for them and it will not ruin the picture to put them in. I did think about adding them before but everything else took over 1"

What a lovely mermaid. The placement of the gills on her face and hands was very unique.

:-) Steph Steph Salt replies: "Thank you Jinx 1 I have started work on giving her tail some scales as well after some prodding and now I might just add webbing between her fingers. I did think of it before honest! 1"

Oh my goodness! Gills! GILLS! That's such an awesomely, fantastically cool idea!! *dies*

I luff her exotic look, the colors, and the grin on her face. Your anatomy is verra nice too. My only suggestion would by to make the tail a leeeeetle bigger at the end.

*takes the BG and runs away* Mwahaha!

:-) Steph Steph Salt replies: "Thank you for your comment rae and I'm pleased that you like it. The tail is bigger but it is in the distance 1 Hand that background back!!! LOL!"

Either photoshop or by hand. The mermaid will still be beautiful no matter what. I love it!
