||This is a panel from my Cartooning class's final project; I did a retelling of one of Amaterasu's myths. The style is sort of a mixture of Buddhist thangka, manga, and my own particular thing. Uzume, the goddess of joy and happiness, is also known for her dancing, so I reflected that in the way she appears in the comic (here, dancing atop a fire), and in her costume, which makes references to Chinese theatrical costume and Indian dancer statuary. Drawn with brush pen and technical pen.|
