Long ago, there was was a healer so skilled in his art, he could restore life to the dead. This healer's name was Gemathustra, ''Divine Balm.'' Sadly, as holy as his touch was, he was hideously deformed, with bent limbs, and a crooked back.

One day, he went to tend a warrior who had injured herself on a boar hunt. Her husband was an insanely jealous creature, however. When he saw Gemathustra touching his wife's flesh, he flew into a mad rage. He left Gemathustra for dead, and tossed the healer's broken body into a g'henna.

There Gemathustra lay... Waiting for himself to die. But, when he did not die, he vowed that he would live on, and carry out his vengence on all those of flesh...

And he walked out of the g'henna to wreak his vengence on all those of flesh and bone.

I....just.....don't .....know.....what.....
GAH!!

Oh well.
*is going to loose sleep over this*

The mask makes me think of some sort of turtle budgie... I don't know why.

Amazing work, amazing story too. That's all I have to say.

I think that this is my favorite version of Gemathustra so far, the colors are so soft and muted, it almost looks like he is stil a good guy and not a twisted maniac dedicated to the painful demise of all beings of flesh. Was there any particular reason that you chose to cover his robes with sealife?

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "No reason. Just felt like it."

Kinda sad that one person made this guy hate all of them. I feel really bad for this guy. I really like the coloring, and I love how it's a wizard, and a monster... interesting drawing because we either usually see ugly monsters that are 'wizards' which you can't even tell unless you're told yourself, or the wizards that are 'perfect' with their long white hair and beards. You've intertwined the two and it looks really really neat.

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Well, it sort of stems from the fact that for the longest time, I couldn't draw people very well. So, I drew mutated/deformed magicians and sorcerors."

He's got freaky toes. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course, but... maybe he should wear some boots...

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Do you know how painful it is to wear shoes after your skin has been burnt off?"

Aww c'mon, he doesn't have creepy toes, he has cute ones, in the twisted way,YOU must be sane not to realize it ^_^;; Any-who, Love the story-line, it goes well intertwined with the painting, not many ppl succeed in doing so, Congrats

Stupid husband! I'll kill you! *strangles him, then goes over to Gemathustra and pats him on the back* There there...he won't hurt you anymore. Very good job on this one, Stanton. I love the robe he's wearing, and the staff is excellent.

Helyeah! This is pretty cool. It's like a D&D Lich meets Dr. Seuss! And I mean that in a very positive way - I love the style you have. I am defiantly and definately coming back to see more later.

I was only going to comment on the ones without comments just to indulge you (and because they're all cool of course) but then I noticed there was a new version of him up...And it's very cool...and so I decided to leave a comment here because he does so rock and what not. Yeah.

*cough*

ANYhow, he's too beautiful to be evil (of course, I'm assuming that's a mask he's wearing)...But then, he's got an awesome fashion sense, which in this gallery is a definite sign of EVIL. Anyhow, I like the new version...poor guy. He just needs a hug.
