telzey's friends from a tale called compulsion by another stan - the old galactics - well the're from a lot of places actualy - well everything resembles something else somewhere - understandably a world as primative as earth might misperceive them - not that this puts themselves at any particular risk - i've had one living in my right wrist for several years with no ill effects ... ~12

he has no legs....you know if you look at it just right it looks like a melting cartoon dog that has a bit ring in its mouth and no ears.........................

You know...This looks like a IRL version of those metal slimes out of the Dragon Warrior games. Except this thing looks a lot less likely to run.

I wouldn't want to look at that thing in that angle Lisa is talking about. It can't be very healthy to be inside that thing..

Definitely could take me out. ::avoids at all costs::

It looks distantly female. Very nice, it has beautiful lines. I can imagine it whipping around and spearing an unsuspecting victim.

Why is it that all silicon life is presumed hostile? Just because of that silly Alien movie, everybody's all up on arms over our crystalline friends?

I mean, so what if silicon is only a practical basis for life on the surface of suns? Who are we to say that molten rock and toxic vapors aren't suitable food sources? Really people, get over yourselves. Go spread you love to all our silicon brethren!

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "At least with the Metal Gel's case, it finds carbon-based lifeforms to be utterly repugnant."

[gets out the shotgun] Well, that thing is definitely neuter. I'd better take it out, just in case. Pretty good though!
