A powerful necromancer sought to bar the subterranean entrance of his lair, as marauding thieves would often use it to raid his treasure vaults. So, he contructed a most horrific creature from both the remnants of the thieves he had caught, and from some of his own undead servants. This creature, Necromalgam, would incorporate the bodies and life forces of those it slew into its own being. Eventually, Necromalgam became too powerful for the necromancer to control and it finally turned on him, incorporating him into its being as well.

Oh yes, and thank you for commenting on my gallery.. (Can you tell that was the second thing on my mind when I saw this pic?)

I remember an issue of Battle Chasers (Joe Mad's oft-delayed comic) that had a monster that used a similar "Legion of dead matter combined into one beast" formula, but he only used it to make a kind of "giant boss" enemy. Kind of a waste, considering he could have used the idea in later issues to great extent. The way you go about really fleshes out the concept behind this type of creature.Granted, I often find myself thoroughly shackled to the "giant boss enemy" syndrome. I think I read the issue right before that incident.

Wow, the colors and details on this are just awesome.

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Loud, and unsightly. Perfect for an undead abomination."

I'm glad you got it coloured 'cos that brings attention to particular parts of the picture which we might not necessarily have noticed before... LIKE THAT EVILE PLATYPUS HEAD NEAR THE TOP. *point* Do you see the evile platypus head?! Do you?! DO YOU!?!?!? *points again* Next to the bit of brain sitting on the pink jelly!!!... PLATYPUS!!!!! Do platypuses make good undead servants then?

I think he's talking about the semi denuded cattle head...I'm not sure though...

Anyway, I'm the "Greek Elfwood Friend", or however he phrased that.

Meanwhile, I -got- your emails. Things have just been really...hectic, I suppose one could put it. I'm working on a color scheme for one of the drawings as we speak 2 It's fun doing umpteen things at once! *yay*

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "I wish I could multitask like you... *sigh* Oh well."

It's spelled platepi!!!

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Actually it would be "platypod," given that the plural of "pus" (foot) is "pod," (feet) or "poda.""

Hey, I never saw the colored version of this. I like it...muchly.

I liked the b/w version because it somehow seemed all disorderly and oozy....this one seems more organized. But I still like it. Especially the green arm thing. 2

Were those theives human? Cuz none of its body parts look remotely human. Or am I just looking at the wrong parts?

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Yes. Remember, the necromancer added parts from his undead servants, too, plus the Necromalgam has done lots of scavenging."
