The only thing i can say about this guy is that he has a real sense of movement, which makes the image all the more dynamic and frightening.

Sweet - I love how the sword has the rings on it - or whatever you'd call them; I agree about the movement - nice work there!! And he looks like he's supposed to be a samurai, so that'll be cool too. Hope you decide to color it when you're finished; I think it'll be great!

Oh fuzzbuzzards, Stanton; we don't all speak Japanese! You know me; the only think I like more than the squishy undead are your insects. I think Shoukou has a great deal of potential; even now you have the composition set just about right. See how his sword and his antennae form a lop-sided circle? Keep that! Keep it lop-sided, too; that makes the composition more exciting. The details in his face are hard to read yet, but the overall design (and the shoulder pads) is marvelous. Can't wait to see how it develops.

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "Well, his face is really hard to read, as it decayed, and crumbled to dust centuries ago. I suppose I'll keep this particular pose. And antenna? You mean his pheasant feather/plumes?"

Nice description Stanton but... most of us don't speak Japanese. Translation please?

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "How would I know? I can't read Japanese."

I'm gonna take a printout of the description to my Japanese teacher, okay, and then post the translation in a comment.

My Japanese teacher had trouble with this. He said if he had the original kanji/hirigana he'd have no trouble. As is, in romaji, he got something about "...From the sky, for your father..." Thought you'd like to know.

:-) Stanton F. Fink replies: "I already KNOW what it means, my dear."

This si an excellent piece of work. I look forward to the completion of this masterpiece. A great description too, and as for those who said they cannot read it, do not look at the site if you dont understand japanese! This is great art and deserves a lot of praise and appreciacition to the artist and creator. Congratulations. I am proud.

You absolutely shouldn't follow this , but what i would do is lose the jaw(even creepier) simplify the chest armour and work a bit on the anaomical rightness of the righthand. As for the rest: just damn awesome!
