From Sailor Moon. Painted in 2002, this was Best of Show at Sakura-Con in Seattle in 2002. It was one of my favorite works, having taken quite some time to get the 'look' of Ami-Chan right for this piece. Ami is the most quiet and thoughtful of the 5 inner Senshi. She is shown here in a fanciful depiction of life after the series, grown up and princess on her home world of Mercury-very hot! Acrylic on masonite.

This is great! You captured her very well. I like the way her lips are pursed just so...like she can't wait to show you what is behind the door. Probably Mercury, her kingdom. The contrast is great too.

Wow you captured her wonderfully.

Words cannot describe what an extraordinary job you did!!! Are there books for their life after the series? Again, awsome job!

:-) Alan Gutierrez replies: "Thanks!I never have seen any "official" Sailor Moon books or manga of their life after "stars" season, but I'm not an expert either...I do know that I and many others have done much speculation."

This is the BEST picture of Ami I have ever seen. You captured her quiet, sort-of-geeky personality so well, in everything..the pose, the lighting...wow. This is definitely one of my favorite pics on Elfwood.

1 Alan Gutierrez replies: "Thank you! Although this is one of my older works, and not up to my present standards, I still like the feel. I wish I could have gotten commissions like this (it was a non-commissioned work)... "

Of the "Sailors all growed up" pics I’ve seen, this has got to be the only one I IDed on site, and one of very few that didn’t just use it as an excuse to T&A them up. As a bonus, she’s sexy as hell-- perhaps because you didn’t just T&A her.
