	This is the first of my little series of elementals that spilled out of my mind last night (Nov. 28, 2001). This is also my favourite. I love this little tree! (no, it's not a hamadryad... just a tree spirit) I've also coloured the others, in case you couldn't tell from the thumbnails grin.

13 Jan 2005	Lightning-phoenix	Loading... There's a playful youthfulness in the pose and hair/leaf stylings, combined with the aged wisdom and treebark wrinkles, which I think befits such a figure. Vegetation elementals too often come across as imitations of either The Professor's ents or the surly apple trees from the film The Wizard of Oz -- it's nice to see an exception. A seemingly simple design, but its apparent simplicity is one of its strengths.
