Greek, meaning 'dark flower' (pronounced Mel-anth-ah). Seemed to fit her.... Perhaps she looks a bit familiar, mmm?

I can definately see the similarities between her and Xena. The wings are fantastic, I've tried that myself and failed miserably.

Nice picture. The hair could use more dynamic highlights and shadows. Hair tends to be shiny. Very realistic though. What kind of wings are those?

A wonderful peice! She has a sense of humanity about her; a human woman remembering her heritage?

Why are there dark spots around the bases of her wings? It looks painful.. Like crusty scabs or something. I've never really thought of drawing the place where the wings join to the back, interesting idea. But maybe you could lighten up the shading around those scabs a little..

ah yay, you used the name that I decided I would name a hypothetical child(which will probably never exist)a couple of years ago...'cept I spelled it melantha...This pic is really cool though, I can see the Xena resemblence, and the wings are all goodly transparent. ah, how I do love xena.

i think this picture is wonderful, i adore the way you made the wings grow out of her back, as opposed to just having thin lines attaching them. WONDERFUL!

I really like how you handled the wings and how they come out of the back. It's not an easy task to make faery wings look feasable, but you did, hon! Congratulations! You win... a cookie!
