SciFi and Fantasy Art Pari Shikha by Stephanie Krutsick

This is my first faery since Melanthe over a year ago... I had been looking at a lot of Indian history lately, and have become somewhat fascinated with Hindu and Buddhist mysticism. I also have always been drawn to the elegance of Indian dress.

This faery is named 'Pari Shikha'-- 'Pari' meaning 'beauty' or 'faery' and 'Shikha' meaning 'flame'.

I am actually very proud of this one- it's the first I would really call 'finished'. It's also I think the best example of clothing material that I've ever drawn. Please, please comment.

This figure reminds me of the Indian priestess who bequeathed her child to Titania in Midsummer's Night Dream (even though that priestess was only human). I particularly like the way she appears to be caught in the middle of a slow, sensuous dance, with her hip thrust to the side momentarily.
