Excellent pic, I always love pics of Anubis. Coolest Egyptian god hands down ^^. BTW, I'm curious, how do ppl scan gigantic pictures like this one apperently was? Are there, like, humongous scanners somewhere or something? 0.o

Fantastic! My husband is very fond of egyptian mythology and these are two of his most favorite! You didn't mention if this was also available as a print?

It's GREAT. I love Anubis, I love Sekhmet, you should draw a Bast. Why is Sekhmet so small? And why's she dancing? Oh well, teach me how to shade and color and DRAW... that great.

I LOVE YOU ANUBIS!

Usually, in ancient art, size of figure referred to importance (like Egyptian statues of husbands with smaller sized wifes) - this would indicate Sekhmet of lesser importace than Anubis. She might be a bit pissed off at this. Since she is dancing with a flame, beware. When the lady puts her whole heart into an action, it grows out of all proportion. I’d warn Anubis to put his fire department on instant standby. Even gods who play with fire can get burned.

how can you call upon Annubis to get his help or guidance

sweet pic. i like the hair gives him that noble judging look with the feather and all and i love the confused look on his face as if trying to weigh her soul against the feather. the dual nature of (sekhmet)Hathor/Bast can’t be an easy thing to weigh Her dancing to distract him from her vengeful side is cool too.

do not try to call upon the favor of Anubis or ask for favor in his judgment. It is almost offensive like asking Odin for help and mercy. Sekhmet however, although quite wrathful will fearlessly protect her devoted who tend to her loving sexual side. A festival of pomegranate stained beer to honor Hathor’Bast the two sides of Sekhmet was held in early October and is said to be one of her most liked offerings along with praise of her beauty. Never mix blood with the beer in ritual for she will strike like a lioness without mercy at your foes and Gods who adore her beauty will seek vengeance on your for taking advantage of her loving protective nature. Some would even say that her twin/aspect Bast will strike back at you (: when she sobers up to restore balance (Ma’at)
