SciFi and Fantasy Art Abby´s Loss by Stephanie ´Stepper´ Card

From my pending comic: my accidentally-immortal Scottish twins, Aberdeen (Abby) and Edinburgh (Eddie). At this point, they are in the mediaeval era, and Eddie had to shave his head because of a lice scare. Abby had managed to fall in love again only to watch her love die slowly and painfully from sickness. She's feeling the full weight of his death and all of its implications, because this is the first time someone she's grown to love has died before she had to sever ties and fake her own death. And she knows she will never be able to join him. She's doomed to repeat this pain for all eternity. And you can imagine how guilty Eddie feels about all of this.

The hurt in the eyes, the clutching hand, grasping for some kind of comfort or hope...it's haunting, and yet such a beautiful depiction of sibling love.
