(Poser 4) A nude study of Acorna, from the novels of the same name. As beautiful as the book covers are, it irks me that the artist paid so little attention to Acorna's description! So I retaliated. ;) The work was done in Poser 4, with special thanks to Lemurtek, Kozaburo, and T.Laubach.

Hmmmmm.. no, this dosn't strike me as Acorna. I think the paid artist did very well. Although Acorna does have an equine face, I think your version horribly disfigures her image(not to be rude). By long, I perceive Anne ment *long*, not snouted. The paid artist made the height of length perfect, and gave her a suitable snout, although it could be overlooked, as they do have more than JUST equine in them. Her head looks like a oddly shaped melon. She hasnt any ears. Her mane should be curly and uncut, like the stories say. I'm sorry, my friend, but as good as this picture is digital, it is anything but a portrait of Acorna. I think the paid artist did better. Try again, sometime, and read the books a bit better. As an avid Acorna fan, this picture is quite a clash, quite a failure. However, I do applaud your art skills, and how lifelike she looks. Good job on that.

Okay, okay, I've been putting off saying something every time I check this page. I agree she doesn't look much like Acorna, even in my mind's eye- it's more of a limitation of the 3d media and what I could do with the models I had at the time, then my not reading carefully. Actually, I usually read the book a second time, taking notes on character descriptions. Anyway, I've got a new model in the works, which is much closer to what I imagined. Keep an eye out for it!

Oh, and the cover of Acorna's Rebels is great! I'm pleased that the artist updated her look.

She's not SUPPOSED to have any breasts. It says in Acorna's people that she's totally flat-chested. People shouldn't critisize something unless they've bothered to read about the material they're critisizing.

Not terrible, but not really Acorna.

Now if the face was adjusted and the hair attached down her back like a mane would be, this'd make a great young acorna.

But do not make her knees less bony...they're just fine the way they are.

However, if one does not take into account that this is supposed to be Acorna, it's very well done...a bit Dark Crystal-ish...but nice.

Well, admiration for everyone who can get those dolls some hair! I ended up with a hula-like skirt around the waist of my doll, but I couldn't attach any hair to the head...;_;

Perfect... It looks how acorna looks in my head.. The paid artist made the one major mistake when doing anthroish art.. Tried to make her look human.. Half the book covers if you look she has a 5 fingered hand and way too many knuckles plus she looks like my little sister.. And my sister looks nothing like a horse... Though she acts like a mule sometimes

maybe a slightly shorter nose? and duh she has no breasts. Anne makes references to that several times. leave the knees. Horses have bony knees.

I'll have to agree that this isn't how I see her either. Yes she has equine features, however when her horn and legs are covered she is supposed to pass for human. People can have "horse" faces without actually having a HORSE face. Or mousy, or birdlike, you get the idea. Yes there were some things wrong with the paid artist, but I think only the author could get it exactly right. But still, this couldn't pass for human as many times Acorna had to do.
