This is about as close as I get to writing 'romance'.

A Ghost

I never believed in ghosts.

Their existence I considered a hoax.

That the dead could return again

Was a notion I would not entertain.

But now I know better

For I've passed on to the other side.

I can see you there alone

And I can hear you cry.

I want so badly to touch you

And hold you close

But I cannot reach you.

You don't believe in ghosts.
