A perspective that many of us have pondered often.
| 6 May 2004 | Lindsey M. Butler | Loading...This was kind of sad, I mean the idea that the gods just packed up and left because of man. When you think about mythology though, it seems like the things they're complaining about in the poem are the very things they instilled in man... So it's kind of like they drove themselves out of a job... Anyway I really liked this. Steve Doyle replies: "You seem to be the first person to pick up on the fact that this poem is a metaphor for a layoff. Everyone wondering who's going to do their job and being told by the boss (who is himself headed out the door, too) that it isn't their problem to worry about anymore." | |

"No one. He refuses to see." < - nice line, most definitely.
