"Battling the Demons of Decay" by Steven P. Love

This was a commission I did for my Dentist.

During a prior visit I mentioned to my Dentist that I did digital art as a side job and I asked him if he'd be interested in a trade for services. He was intrigued so I showed him some 8.5 by 11 inch prints of my portfolio. He agreed to give it a try so I took my camera and took a photo of him in a kind of fighting pose. I then took some photos of decayed teeth that he had stored in a container for disposal.

After processing the photos in my computer I then went to work and 20 hours later this is the result. In this picture I'm depicting my Dentist as a super dentist vanquishing Demons of Decay. I also added some photos I had taken of some animal skulls I found while out hiking in the Arizona desert near where I live. I felt that they'd give the image a demonic flavor. I then presented him with an 11 by 17 inch print and he loved it. He agreed to give me a free teeth cleaning in exchange for the picture.

He also agreed to let me display the picture in my galleries as part of my portfolio. On my website I do have a disclaimer stating that I, as the artist, do retain the right to display any commissions I create as a demonstration of my skills to future clients.
