| 23 Apr 2003 | Sean Patrick Aldous | Loading...Hey neighbor. Just stopping by to say hi. O, and by the way, great pictures. And guess what? One of my best friends last name is Hubbard. *shrug* just thought that was kind of a funny coincidence. Ok, well, so long for now, and keep up the good work. Alison Hubbard replies: "Yeah, it seems to be quite a common name ah well, there's only one of me (thank goodness) *runs away cackling madly*" | |

| 17 Sep 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...My friend has the exact same name as you. Alison Hubbard replies: "Cool, of course, I'm gonna assume that we don't actually know each other... i.e. that I'm not said friend o.O" | |
| 2 Nov 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...That isnt a unique drawing style she just sucks. Alison Hubbard replies: "Whether you're the same anonymous as above or not, the same response goes. Actually, I do suck - on sweeties mainly - and I could improve, but I won't improve on vague criticism. Oh, and btw, if we're all unique individuals (not counting the ranks of 'anonymous' clones), then how can a person's drawing style NOT be unique?" | |
| 2 Nov 2003 | Anonymous | Loading...You suck really bad i mean god! If i was dying i could scribble with a pen in my dying hand barely grasping on to it and it would be better!!! Terrible! Alison Hubbard replies: "If that's the case then prove it - and if you really believe that, then don't be such a coward and put your name. I honestly don't care what you think to my work, I post it here for the enjoyment of those who do like it, and flaming anonymously isn't going to change that. Still, if you want to see it improve, put constructive criticism, not pointless, incoherent flames." | |
| 10 Nov 2003 | Dal Gibbons | Loading...Nice gallery! I really like the geometric dragon, and the chains on Taming the Muse are absolutely perfect! I feel like I should be holding onto them! Alison Hubbard replies: "thanx very much The chain perspective was a happy accident *grins*" | |
| 4 Dec 2003 | Lucy Andrews | Loading...*sets Draconis on Annonymous* *watches flames burning flesh with delight* Muhahahaa... > Hehe, just had to, lil' guy was hungry *pats Draconis on the head* oh, and he did eventually forgive you for the whole chain thing xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Alison Hubbard replies: "was that before or after he and the B-muse slaughtered all those innocent law enforcers?" | |
| 24 Jun 2006 | Demoss | Loading...okay, so here's what I think. Though, those anonymous comments are incredibly rude and uncalled for, I can't exactly gush over your drawings as some here are. I think some of your drawings need a lot of work (and I'm not being pretentious here and not saying that mine are really good or anything - or even better than yours -... I mean if only people that were perfect at any given field could give advice then we wouldn't have movie or food critics or anything!). Specifically the computer drawn ones. You clearly have artistic talent (that taming the dragon one is just really really good! I also like the slightly abstract angel one) but it isn't clear in some of the pieces. I feel like some look like they were thrown together by a novice in paint and then placed on a clashing background. Perhaps investing in a nice program would be worth it? I don't know very much about making artwork with the computer. I always feel like one has to be really really good to make things that are aesthetically pleasing. But for sure keep practising. Anyway, I know you probably "don't care" what I think, but I figured I'd take you up on that "don't arbitrarily flame, give advice" thing... Don't take it the wrong way, people of the world gotta help each other out yeah? Alison Hubbard replies: "Heh, it's nice to meet a fellow realist Yes, most of these drawings, well, I won't say I'm not proud of them (everyone has to start somewhere after all), but I'll admit they're certainly not my best. Unfortunately I'll also admit that, like many people, I'm best when almost directly copying an original source, although I never, ever, stoop to tracing. Coupled with the fact that I usually draw fanart and, well, every ticket of 'decent' work I've tried to submit has been turned down :'( A lot of these pieces are also (as you quite accurately noted) thrown-together sketches that have then been experimented on in Photoshop. 'Don't care' what you think? No, I care very much what someone with an opinion worth listening to (ie NOT a flamer) thinks - how else will I get an outside opinion that is unbiased? Not from my friends, however much they may try to give an honest opinion. So, thank you very much for your comment, and opinion, and advice; maybe some day I'll persuade the mods to let some of my 'decent' work through Bring in a FanCopies quarter!" | |
