Finally, guys - my tablet is working again!
Yes...
I tell you - MY TABLET IS WORKING AGAIN! *does the happy tablet dance*
And out of happy tablet joy I made this little speedpainting. The background was made in Corel Painter (don't say a word about it!) and the gryphons in Photoshop (feathers, whee!) with the pen opacity brush using two similiar-yet-different techniques.
So the gryph to the left, Gregor (okay, that isn't his name, but it will be until I find his real one. You can't call a gryphon who's living in a land where humans have never existed for Gregor, aye?), was made by splashing color on one part, finishing it, and then moving to the next one. Feathers, beak, eye, everything made separately.
The right gryphie, Thundercry, was made by roughing out all the colors together and shading tem that way too. I don't know which way was the easier one.
Gregor is a very new character, and this is why he's got a placeholder-name. He's Thundercry's best buddy and loves to talk about the good ol' days. "Now, when I was young..." Don't get him started. For some reason he reminds me of Mr. Gibbs O.o He has lost a lot of the feathers below his eyes, see?
Thundercry is still an old shaman and the public's favourite. I guess it's because of his scar xP And now you can enjoy him in colors too!
Old, old gryphons.
... Okay, so they don't look very old, but they are, believe me.
The original is (was) three times this size, but I managed to save the resized version of it >.< Well, there aren't many details in this piece. I just went a little wild with their feathers. It's been a while since I've drawn gryphons, and it's been a while since I've worked digitally.
Yeah, my tablet works again!
