I once had a very special friend. She was like a sister to me, a true friend, my mentor and inspiration, and I loved her very dearly. I travelled halfway around the world to meet her, not only once, but twice, and with each visit, the bond between us grew stronger.
But our friendship came to an end. In time she moved on. I don't really know why.
It still grieves me, though most of the time I just try to remember all the good times we had, all the things I got to see and do thanks to her.
This picture is a portrait of her avatar Zahra, one of the magical, genie-like creatures known as pairakas. I drew it for her birthday many years ago, and while it's old I still rather like it. Leaving it up for nostalgia, if nothing else; for the memories' sake.
