I made a coup here. A message was posted in the Elfwood LJ by the WoodWorks editors, asking if there were any artists who liked Egyptian art, who'd feel like doing the cover for the June 2003 edition. I jumped up and down and waved my arms, and was thus picked for the job.
Soo, of course I took the chance to promote my dear divinity of choice. Say hello to Set, peoples!

The glowing hieroglyphics there are actually part of a summoning 'spell' / poem I wrote myself in Ancient Egyptian. The grammar is most likely ghastly, as I don't really know that language, but the meaning should be clear enough. ^^;;d

Media used: Corel Photopaint 9, Wacom tablet. Computer painted from scratch.

My Histroy teacher would love it. But we finished Ancient Egypt last year.

Yes, b/c so many of us these days kno heiroglyphics. Absolutely love the pic tho. The "spell" thing and the whole ancient egyptian scenario is so intriguing. i am egyptian myself so it makes it even better 4 me. o and keep drawing those egyptian gods u did at the beginning. arubis was gorgeous. so sry if i spelled that wrong

brilliant, absolutely brilliant, and this goes for the rest of ur art since I have no time to comment on everything 8 I also thought it was interesting that the man has four shadows, did anyone else not notice that?

The more I looked at this image, I finally noticed what was bothering me about. Why does he have four shadows? It is as though there is a light shining on him from each one of those directions, but if that were true, would they not disrupt one another? Perhaps I'm looking too much into it, it just had me so curious. I do love this picture though, as I am a lover of Ancient Egypt myself. You do wonderful art, dear, and I hope to learn to do as well as you, though that will probably never happen. One can only hope! 1
