don't take this the wrong way, my friend. but perhaps you should START looking at something when you're drawing. you're good. but you could be a lot better. not everyone who's looking at something is tracing or copying. and copying is not bad when used in the right context.

just a thought. :/ keep rockin.Artist: Thanks for the advice. The most recent drawing on here is from September 2001... I'll try to update with more recent things this summer, but unfortunately I do not have access to a scanner while at school, and the most recent fantasy stuff that I do have scanned were commissioned pieces and so I do not place them here. Thanks for the encouragement though, I will try to be more prolific when I get the spare time.

You go to Sheridan too? Yup, there's scanners in the animation lab right off of the animation wing. You need an access card to get in there most of the time though, although it's open during the daytime hours for the most part.Artist: Yeah, I'm a fundie, I got accepted into animation next year though, (Special Admissions [keep in mind everything posted here almost two years old now]) Hopefully I can get access and scan some stuff. Otherwise, I'll update in late May. I gotta stay at school till the 3rd to give tours at the open house...

Hi there, I really like the art on your page. I have always wanted to be an animator and have been working my buttsky off on drawing (this summer I force myself to draw three hours a day). I'm starting Art Fundamentals this Fall and am hoping that if I work really hard I'll also make it into the BAAA program the following year. As it happens I play keyboards, maybe we can jam! Cheers, CoryArtist: Cool, good luck with it all. I unfortunately am one of the least prolific people around. I find it really hard to get anything done without being told to do it haha. As long as you keep that attitude, you should be fine. There's many people who want to get into animation, but aren't willing to do the work to get in. Jamming sounds like a possibility!

I agree totally. Though I wish I could be more confident! I find by forcing myself in situations where I have to be creative it's relatively easy to keep your chin up. I drew a lot and when I had to do a co-op placement I did it at Amberwood Animation Studios in Ottawa (formerly Lacewood and Hinton, the folks who did Care Bears and The Raccoons). I made a lot of friends there and learned a lot. And being surrounded by people who are better than you are definitely forces you to become better. I often had to redraw things eight and nine times before it was approved! A great learning experience though. Thanks for the tips.

BTW being prolific is good!! You'd be amazed how much you can improve in a short amount of time simply by drawing a lot. I generally try to draw at least 3 hours a day. Maybe we can meet up this year ot something. Who knows. Cheers, CoryArtist: Yeah, accomplishing a lot obviously is a good thing. But the insanity factor is something to consider too. It's something I'll be doing for the rest of my life, something that will be stealing away much of my spare time and sleep. So, while I have a chance to accomplish little, I may as well take it.

*mutters* why are they all so good its not fair!!!Artist: Sure it's fair. What's not fair is that I'm still not as good as I want to be.
