| This is a poem about a griffon who is graceful and powerful, but is also a loving and protective mother. |
|
And so the graceful griffon flies
Who dares to challenge her in her skies?
High above the clouds she soars
And takes her freedom to Heaven's doors.
Up and up, she swoops and glides
And down again to skim the tides.
The clouds part before her might
The currents ebb to aid her flight.
The sun sees her in all her glory
The moon comes to end her story.
As she settles back to earth
We see the truth of her intimate worth.
For in the mountain where she dwells
In a nook amid some shells,
A tiny beak appears, a single cheep
Before if wanders back off to sleep.
Our graceful griffon, now content with lying
She cares not for freedom or flying
But for the ball of fluff beside her
So still, so precious, her only love.
