Nightshade and the handsome stallion Imperial Banner, whom she stole from the kings own private stable, make adventuring look good- no matter what side of the law they happen to be on at the moment LOL. It's old, but still one of my favorites. ^_^

What an incredible picture- the shading and muscling is flawless!!

18 Suzanne 'Lady Valtaya' Kraft replies: "I don't know about flawless, but thanks!!!! It took me forever to get this pic to look the way that I wanted it to. And now when I look at it all I see is how the girl's legs are WAY way too long for the rest of her body. I'm glad you saw him instead."

This rocks!!! I love the horse's expression and the way you shaded him.

1 Suzanne 'Lady Valtaya' Kraft replies: "  Thanks!!! I've always liked drawing normal horses as well as the more fantastic end of the equine spectrum."

Just out of curiosity... Was your model for this a certain breyer arabian stallion? If not it sure looks like him and if so you did a awesome job drawing him. I have tried to sketch from my breyers before, but my atrocious drawing skilled always deter me.

2 Suzanne 'Lady Valtaya' Kraft replies: "Actually I drew him looking at a very old statuette of a morgan and a drawing of the "ideal" conformation- you know, the breed standard as it's sometimes called for the Morgan horse. Something about that statue and the way that he carried his head and his tail reminded me of what I thought a medium warhorse would look like, so I just made him taller. Thanks for stopping by!!!"

Just to say that if you rode you would have noticed that the woman is way too tall for this little horsey guy!

:-) Suzanne 'Lady Valtaya' Kraft replies: "I just keep wondering.... HOW MANY TIMES must I say that I know perfectly well that the girl didn't come out as I intended. Her legs rather than the rest of her body are far out of proportion. Because, as a matter of fact I DO ride. If I had noticed how tall she was I would have drawn her as a better height match for the horse. She and the horse are both supposed to be tall however so at the time I wasn't worried about her height. The horse was always the focus of this piece."
