SciFi and Fantasy Art Cubist Self Portrait by Rachel Tamar Wohlstadter

This is one of the later projects I did for my freshman drawing class. First we did a line drawing self portrait, sort of 3D program-wireframe-style, and then we.. er.. deconstructed it. I erased lines across it, and then added all kinds of stuff. There are all kinds of animals I did my best to put in there: wolves, snakes, dragons, birds, whales... I've forgotten half of them by now. Anybody see them? See anything else?

16 Nov 2001	Lisa Månsson	Loading... I see the face, something that looks like a claw, some duck-looking thing, a tail then I don't think I see anything else. The complexity of it strikes you first, before the face. You sort of get caught up in it. I love pencil drawings, that might be why.

It is balanced, the darkest lines move the eye around the picture while the lighter places to the left and bottom allow relief. You can just make out the face amongst the noise. I don't see the other animals you put in there, but I'm not one to notice such things Thanks for the lovely composition compliments! That's what I wish my professor had said. ~_~
