| 16 Dec 2007 | Dave Cripps | Loading...Very Roman-ish those arms. Mixed with the Viking type helm. LARP? Do they use the padded weapons or the rather dangerous un-padded versions? It all looks very impressive whatever they use. David Tarron replies: "Yeah i was going for a mythalogical european look, the same way WETA did with the Rohan. The real sword is just for the Photo live roleplay weapons have a glassfibre core surrounded with sculpted foam with latex ontop to make them look the part. saying that though, the armour could take real weapon hits!lol" | |
| 16 Dec 2007 | Someone slightly less rushed | Loading...Thank you! That was quick! Did I mention that this is a very cool armor and I want it? The fact that you can design something that makes people drool and let their guard down is surely quite a compliment in itself. David Tarron replies: "Thanks! your very kind. And thankyou for working so hard to mod peoples work it's greatly appreciated!" | |
| 8 Jan 2008 | Bojana Dimitrovski | Loading...You made it?? Bravo!!! A very nice mood to this composite...almost looks like it's painted! David Tarron replies: "Thanks verymuch! The photo of me was taken on a very sunny day which makes things more difficult in a manipulation." | |
| 18 Jan 2008 | Spiros Fon Kourtakis | Loading...Really good composition. I think needs a little bit more contrast but this is my opinion. Bravo David keep rocking!!! David Tarron replies: "Yeah ,i had real problems with this one, the sun was so bright when it was taken, that it made compositing a pain, i’ll get better though.........." | |
| 7 Mar 2008 | Heidi Hecht | Loading...Cool armor. It’s not fair that you didn’t get a Mod’s if only because of all the time and trouble that obviously went into this. David Tarron replies: "Thankyou Heidi ! well i don’t think it’s fantasy enough for the rules that surround Elfwood, i had to say it was fantasy in the description before it could be accepted.
I find Deviantart a much more accepting place and being able to upload your work into your gallery immediately is a major plus ."
| 13 Mar 2008 | Jaclyn Rose McGillivray | Loading...Rohirrium sword eh? im guessing you bought the sword right? if you made the rest of it other then the guantlets. David Tarron replies: "Yeah i bought that too , it’s a cheap copy of Theodin’s sword. I didn’t make myself either ( my parents did that!lol)." | |
| 13 May 2008 | Thomas Berndhäuser | Loading...I´ve seen a lot here on Elfwood... but i am pretty sure that among all those wizards of art there was no master armourer. That is a fine armor indeed! I am sure facing orcs with such a good protection is much less fearfull than without... last time i met some of those i found myself at the right end of a crossbow and i was glad to have it - until the bolt was gone and i wished for an armour like that. I am impressed! David Tarron replies: "Thankyou kindly! Wearing that stuff makes me feel like a tank, which is great, but running in it is no joke.lol
Definately a good alternative to using ranged weapons though."
| 29 Oct 2008 | Brian Moyer | Loading...Being an former SCA fighter and building a couple of suits for myself, I can appreciate what I see here. Great work. I really miss putting on 50 pounds of leather and metal and running into other people dressed the same way. Closest I came to feeling like playing high school football again, but with big sticks, heh heh. Good stuff. David Tarron replies: "Thankyou! It is certainly fun to make and even better to use, i’m happiest when wearing armour, shame i don’t get to do it anymore
I appreciate you stopping by.
