Tag As FavoriteComment		The Sun (Anar, the fruit of Laurelin) rising for the very first time in Middle Earth, signifying the age of Men and the period of Elven decline. This picture began as an accident, when the sky overflowed and spread into the earth, making the sun-effect. I loved the effect and emphasized it, painting my favourite sort of clouds: multi-coloured ones! The picture is inspired by Tolkien's invented mythology: Ainulindalë, Valaquenta and Quenta Silmarillion, which can be found in The Silmarillion. Fantastic book!

Very nice! I like your brave use of contrast ~ it really works. (I'm always a bit afraid of too much contrast myself, so I rarely manage to come with anything nearly so dramatic as this) The color works well, too. When I look at the thumbnail image it's very convincing, almost like a photograph. Well done!
