"Eden" by Gunvor Paludan

I've just finished reading John Milton's "Paradise Lost" and I positively adored it! The language is curly, true, but also beautiful; you can almost hear it singing for you. Naturally, this wonderful poem inspired me, so I had to paint a Genesis-themed pic, but I didn't want to draw Adam and Eve being punished and banished, so I chose to paint the garden of Eden without them. I changed the cherub, who's standing guard for a fairy, because I wanted to add some more colour and because I find fairies a bit more melancholic than armoured angels with fiery swords, and I wanted to show the sadness and not the threat. It was only when I'd finished it that I realized, I'd forgot to paint the fruits on the tree of knowledge. Duh! Well, it's no use crying over spilt potion.
