This summer's Lúthien portrait. This time, she's accompanied by a phoenix, just to underline her fate and extraordinary choice. As both phoenixes and elves are immortal, I wanted to show them both literally jumping off a cliff into death for love.

I had a lot of fun with ink on this one, but, as always, I'm not really satisfied with it, which is why I'll keep painting Lúthien until I get her right!

Really wonderful colors! Soft feeling and still amazingly deep-colored detail in the bird... now you inspired me, I have to go draw something and try to make it as pretty as this is.2 If I had a daughter I'd print this on her wall.
