SciFi and Fantasy Art Phoenixes by Gunvor Paludan

An experiment with watercolour. I wanted to draw something slightly angelic, but without the traditional, religious look. What to do? Draw a partly naked angel with no visible transition between arms and wings! (Which also, incidentally; meant that I didn't have to draw quite as many feathers as I feared)

She has pointy ears solely because I like drawing them. The other creature is, of course, a phoenix.

The background didn't work out the way I planned. I used salt for the stone wall, and that worked okay, but my experiment with soap for the green background just made it look like markers. Humph.
