| 30 Sep 2005 | Mossy <LadySimbelmyne@gma...com& | Loading...*sighs* Wow, this is beautiful... It seems really simple when you first look at the thumbnail, but as soon as the picture loads, you open your eyes, and it just... glows. And I mean literally. You know the way that your eyes get slightly tired as you look at the moon? They actually did that while I was looking at this picture. It's really wonderful the way that you made the tree just... beam like that. I wish I knew how to do that with watercolors o_O I remember doing a watercolor of the ocean and the moon, but the best I could do was add more and more what watercolor to the moon... didn't really work all that well It certainly was white though. Hehe. Tolkein is great, isn't he? What a wonderful, brilliant man. The clouds, too, really seem to be billowing in your piece. I don't know if you really meant for there to *be* clouds, but the heavens look just wonderful. That deeper blue bit of the sky, to the right? Lovely. ... *adds this to her favorites links* Great job. Watercolor is a very hard medium to work with (I find, anyway!!), I am always so impressed by watercolor artists... this is really wonderful. Keep it up, ~Mossy | |

| 31 May 2006 | Nienor | Loading...ai ai!! Where are all the comments?? Tolkien is a genius indeed... I like the style, it reminds me of Tolkien's personal illustrations, especially the way you did the stars and coloring. I don't suppose you've ever read that book, J.R.R. Tolkien, Artist and Illustrator? It's really awesome, and this lovely pic reminds me of it Melkor AND Ungoliant are dirty gits | |

However, I always imagined that its /leaves/ cast most of its light. Not saying this is bad, but what do you think? | |
