She chained herself to God, so that he couldn't leave her. But God is a creation of man, and he can't be bothered to care for her. Sickness is her penance for believing too much in something that can never be hers. Or that's the story anyway. At least it's not another 'fallen angel'.

Oh yeah, i'm not exactly sure when the first basis of the bible was written. It seemingly goes back to the dead sea scrolls, although the new testament was written directly after Chirst's death.

Wow... This is so sad. She looks so lost. I know some people who are so caught up with thier religion and god that they do this to themselves..... One of my best friends is a splitting image of this drawing (without the wings, that is.). GREAT job!!!

A couple facts you might be interested to know even if they maybe useless.

There was one religion a long time ago ( don't remember what it was called) where you actually had to pay to get into heaven. When someone died the family had to collect a certain amount of money to give the church. If they didn't give the money their family member didn't get into heaven. Therefore only the rich could get into heaven.

There is an animal (and it still exists) called a legless lizard. It looks and moves like a snake but it has tiny (useless) feet on its belly. It doesn't have a fork tongue like a snake but a thicker rounded tongue. So it looks like a snake but it's actually a lizard.

:-) Teela Anne Stoll replies: "Ooh, paying to get into heaven. I hadn't heard of it. You'd think that it was still around considering how much people value money these days. I've heard of the legless lizard (seen pictures etc), thanks for the input. Wonders of the world, all thanks to evolution. 2"

Wow, all the stuff you and Thomas wrote, very educational. Thank you.

This is very beautiful picture with a lot of meaning behind it. I like how you drew the wing.

:-) Teela Anne Stoll replies: "Thanks for the comment 2 I've never been educational before (though you were probably referring more to Thomas... but still). "

Completely apart from all christian/jewish interpretations of this image...

I find this beautiful. It's like innocence and beauty have died and cracked, leaving only despair and emptiness. It is very symbolic to me. I thank you for sharing this with the elfwood community including myself.

:-) Teela Anne Stoll replies: "Thanks for the comment, I'm glad it could mean something."

Wow you love torturing angels dont you. Just a few comments.

Firstly i dont think that the cross was needed the simple fact that it was an angel should get your meaning across to most people (although judging by some of the comments in your threads i doubt half of them even know how 2 spell angel) and apart from that it looks out of place, almost as if you added it in at the last minute out of desperation to get your point across.

Secondly i think that you may like to give her more anonymity through showing fewer facial features helps to make her not just an individual in her naive longing to be near god but more a symbol for the billions like her around the world.

just a thought.

UTI.

:-) Teela Anne Stoll replies: "The point is that it's not me who is torturing angels. The cross wasn't needed, but it wasn't just an add-in. It's what the angel is wearing, like it or not. I would not like to give her more anonymity, because the fact that it is representing more than one person does not mean that each of those people does not have a face. It is through the details that we can relate. This is only one angel, who represents more than that. Make sense? "

teela when i said that u love torturing angels i wasnt being literal it was a joke.

"I would not like to give her more anonymity, because the fact that it is representing more than one person does not mean that each of those people does not have a face"

that is true but is it not also true that each of them has a different face? why categorise them all under the same persona when the point you are trying to prove is that anyone can fall victim to "gods" deception and inevitably end up as your fallen angel did?

"It is through the details that we can relate. This is only one angel, who represents more than that. Make sense?"

no it doesnt, not at all. put it this way if you hear a man has lost a thousand dollars and grieves u can relate yet if you find he is of a different monetary disposition than yourself then you relating with his own emotions becomes more difficult. sorry that was a piss poor example but i think you know what i mean. basically showing less allows people to relate more as they can more easily attatch what they see to what they have gone through. plus it forces your audience to think about what it is they are looking at and so allows you to more easily get your own point across.

sorry to argue with you about your own drawing but basically i think your wrong.

UTI.

PS. could you possibly tell me where i could access some of your poetry on everypoet as i am curious to see whether or not your poetic skills are as good as your critique.

:-) Teela Anne Stoll replies: "Ugh, ok, internet = bad communication device. No inflections to be read. Anyway, moving on. If I chose not to have a face on this angel, then someone who is potentially supposed to relate to this (really... it's just a stupid picture, nobody is actually going to relate. But hypothetically...) will not see that figure as human. One of the points was that though angels aren't human, this angel represents something which affects humanity, and giving the angel a face would allow them to see that yes, this does represent something to do with humans. Just because there is only one face does not mean that people will think 'oh, it's only about women' or something similar. A thousand dollars is a thousand dollars, and one relates the same to the loss of money, not necessarily to the person who lost it. In this case, that's how the comparison would go. You look at the condition (the angel chained and hanging head and malnutrition), it is not the features of the face one is looking at. I do see your point about the face, and yes it would help towards the clarity of my cause. But, to summarize: originally, I was just drawing an angel. If I try to erase the face, it would make the drawing look stupid because the lines will still show up from the dark lead. Heh, obviously I like to argue or I wouldn't have gotten myself into this mess. Oh well. And I messaged you about the poetry thing, soo... you probably know that but anyone else reading this won't just think I'm ignoring it. Heh. Thanks for commenting on my picture 2."
