Malachi Robb

SciFi & Fantasy Artwork by Malachi Robb

Malachi is a strange creature, often claiming to be a shoggoth, or possibly a decendant of Deep Ones. He has an obsession with lush and detailed imagery, of alien planes and worlds, and consistently is inspired by the distant cosmic songs of the Great Old Ones.

Have you ever heard of the artist Ray Troll? He does fishes (Ilove sharks), but what got me was his style of bright colors on black background. I have never seen it done so well since, that is untill now. I hope you stay with this style because you make it look flawless. Oh I love the monsters too, you sure you haven't visited my nightmares? Some are awfully familliar...

:-) Malachi Robb replies: "Thank you so much for the comment, and compliment! I had not heard of Ray Troll before, and went to check out his work- wow! Some amazing stuff, I love fish all creatures of the deep. Especially when they're drawn so well, with a psychadelic touch. He's really made the color-on-black technique work for him, and it's certainly encouraging to hear I'm doing well with it too! I'm very attached to the style, so I'm sure I'll be sticking with it as my primary one. And you know how those monsters are, slipping around through the collective unconscious and stalking into people's dreams! It's quite possible we've met some of the same ones. XD"

Very disciplined shading and neat work!
Do you have any drawing showing characters in action?

:-) Malachi Robb replies: "Thank you for the comment- I don't tend to draw a whole lot of action, I seem to think in ancient friezes and bas-reliefs. I've got some action planned for an ongoing project, though, shall likely post some of those portions for a small change."

Wow! I love your gallery- I know it's been said before, but your compositions and use of color are outstanding and very unique! Keep up the beautiful work! ^_^

It is great if one finds his/her own style. Your gallery is very unique, something I learned to value. I think it must be the deep well of creativity you reside near. Keep up the great work.

Your artwork is fantastic! I love your use of colour and lines and the overall composure of the your pieces seems so well thought out. All your pieces have so much to look at! They come accross to me as very dream like, tribal even. Do carry on posting your pieces. They are absolutley marvellous!

Very beautiful and unique work, some of the more original stuff I have seen in Elfwood in a long time. I admire your rendering of different sorts of literary and mythological characters, and the use of colored pencil is brilliant. Keep up the wonderful work!

I came for the mods choice and stayed for the truly amazing gallery. I'm especially fascinated by the tarot cards. I'm going to read this Dreamland Cycle you speak of, and then look at them again. Do you have any aspirations to make these into an actual physical deck? If so (once I've done the reading) I might be interested in buying one. I'll get back to you on that once I've read it, it sounds fascinating.

Well, i give up. I'd be here all day if I commented on every pic I liked. So i'll just give you the blanket cheesy "WOW" here, and your artwork is cool in its twisy-turney-complicated coolness.

You make me seriously want to run out and buy a nice expen$ive pack of Prismacolors!!
