I really like this interpretation of gimli... It makes him seem so much older and wiser and now that i'm said that to myself it doesn't seem like the most perfect of fits but hey apon first glance it looks fantastic!!

He has a very dignified appearance. He looks very different to how I imagine Gimli, but I like your portrayal very much.

Excelent interpretation. And the technic of the drawing is perfect.

Every now and then I do a search for new pics of Gimli, and yours turns up in the results and I revisit. This is still a favorite of mine among the dwarf portraits on Elfwood. Among other things, the use of light and dark contrast makes it so immensely atmospheric.

This drawing is gorgeous... I like the kinda viking style at Gimly`s armour:0)I will recomend you to take a look at some of the the pictures from the norwegian artists (for us they are obligatory at school)Erik Werenskiold and Theodor Kittelsen and their illustrations of nors mytology, sages and fairytales. This picture kind of reminded my abouth them :0)

A breathtaking picture of the stereotypical dwarf. I tend to argue that the dwarves of Tolkein are much easier on the eyes, if only because they were made by the master of all crafts.
