Rebekah I'm tall, broad-shouldered, skinny, tough, I have blue-green eyes, stubborn, I fight for what I believe in, I stand up for myself, I stand up for my friends if someone's talking trash about them behind their back, George Straits song How 'Bout Them Cowgirls fits me perfectly. I have a sarcastic, spazzy sense of humor! Riding is really pretty easy. All you have to do is sit straight, have an arch in your back, shoulders back, look up, carry your hands, put your heels down, thigh on, calf on, keep your chin up, your butt back, don't pinch with your knee, don't hunch your shoulders in the air, keep your leg on in the air, don't swing your leg, two legs, two hands, calm your horse down, talk to your horse, pet him, don't yank on the reigns, stay relaxed, and LOOK GOOD DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!! ©Me You cross the line, your ass is mine! (Hint: Saying anything bad about horseback riding would be crossing the line!!!!!!!!!)
 
 
 

Hola peeps! What upeth? I have a horsey (YAY my baby!!), a doggy (yay my other baby!!), and a kitty (once again, yay my third baby!!!)! My horse is a 15.5hh, 1/2 shire 1/2 anglo-arab gelding. He's a bright bay with 2 hind stockings, a white band on his coronet, and a mitten shaped star. My dog is a white-chocolate lab thats in the smallish side and very sweet. My cat is tiny but kinda fat, black, with a white splash on her chest and lower on her belly, and a little patch of hair on her throat.

Let me think of something else to recommend. Hmmm...
D*ck Francis wrote books that revolve around horse racing (he was a jockey), though they are mostly suspense/murder mysteries. If you can get past the fact that the main character is always beaten to a bloody pulp in his books, they do have happy endings.
Maybe I should think of something else to recommend. Hmmm...
There is a book by Elizabeth Moon about the first paladin called Surrender None and you know a paladin has to have a mount, right? Oh, course, he is a foot soldier for the first half of the book.
I better try and think of something else to recommend. Hmmm...
Oh! Sporting Chance, also by Moon, features a character who is a riding enthusiast.
So is Moon, I think. However, the main story revolves around a plot against a royal prince.
So, I will try to think of something else to recommend. Later...

Well, if you want my entire "must read" list...
It%u2019s very short. Go to the library and check out anything they have by Elizabeth Moon. Done.

But for more detail, her Deeds of Paksennarian <sic>(pretty sure the spelling is off, there) series is my favorite series ever, and the first book in it is Sheepfarmers Daughter. Go from there.

I also recommend Robin Hobb and Lois McMaster Bujold!.
There, that should keep you busy a while...

P.S. your local library probably won%u2019t have Sheep, but most libraries have an share policy with neighboring systems, so ask if they can order it for you!
Shame I can%u2019t just lend you one of my copies...

I’ve read the first book, and I’m waiting for my friend to loan me the next 3. My mom doesn’t want me to read them though. She says they’re "bad books."21
